However, the night before surgery the realization that she was really going to have to undergo surgery - she was suddenly not nearly as "excited". After calming down she came up to me and asked if we could call Braylyn and Morgan and ask them to pray for her. I assured her they already had and would continue to do so. This made her feel much better, and she was very strong after this. Unfortunately inwardly I was not so strong. I was trusting God, but it kind of broke my heart I have to say!
The morning of she remained very strong. A few times you could tell she was using self-control and not giving way to her emotions. She was very quiet (which is totally not like her) and a few times her lips would quiver.
Here we are pre op. She was making "cupcakes" on a game on John's iPad. The poor thing had not eaten or drunken anything that day - I don't know how she was doing it. She had to have been so hungry (lol)!
Here she is the morning after. The afternoon after surgery she was awesome. She was on a lot of medicine though so I was nervous what the next day would bring. However, she slept awesome all night and woke with soooo much energy!!! Her throat was sore, but she was back to her normal self! Amazing! As I was taking this picture she had just seen a short infomercial about this "really cool brush" that was "not expensive at all!" She was quite excited about it while eating a popsicle at 8 a.m. :)
The hardest part about recovery right now is she is not supposed to yell or strain her voice. Ahem - Abigail keep it down!? This is like telling a dog he can't bark! :)
After waking with so much energy I was nervous trying to figure out how I was going to keep her content at home "taking it easy." Thankfully, Cara called and asked if they could come visit! This was such a treat for us. They even came bearing gifts. So fun!
