First Day of Preschool!

I couldn't take enough pictures. I can't believe my little girl is now going to preschool! This week has been a little smoother it seems. The week Abigail started preschool, BSF started, as well as AWANA. So we are adjusting now to having a schedule (one that is not self-inflicted at least). It's going pretty well now. Last week was a little overwhelming for us all, but this week has seemed much better. Maybe it's just adjustment; maybe it's just a TON of prayer - probably both.

Jackson's first birthday party was lots of fun - crazy - but fun. :) Jackson had a good time (I think). :)

Present time! I had this "great idea" to have Jackson get a picture with the gift and the givers of the gift. Started out ok but quickly went south. He was exhausted, and it seemed as if everyone else was more interested in the gifts than him.

Abigail was sooo excited about all the gifts Jackson got (way more than him). After everyone left and while we were cleaning up she kept wanting to play with his toys, but I wouldn't let her open them without Jackson awake. She was so quiet I looked over and the poor thing was riding his scooter still in the box. :)

Sleepover!

We kept Grant and Cara's kids overnight while they had a work function in Indy. It was so much fun! The kids (mostly the girls) were beside themselves with excitement, and the time we had did not leave us disappointed. It was a great time - for the kids and me!

Abigail and Braylyn watched Tangled (or part of) before bed.

Morgan was scared of Tangled so she watched Dora (by herself) in our bedroom. It was so cute. She was totally content to sit in there and do her own thing. The older two really wanted to watch Tangled, and she was completely fine with that! She just didn't want any part of it! :)

The Big One!

This precious little boy is turning one tomorrow, and I just can't believe it! For some reason with him (I think it's because he is my second) I am kind of nostalgic! With Abigail I couldn't wait for her milestones! However, with Jackson I don't want him to change at all. I want him to stay in this stage forever. I know I am being a bit irrational and overly emotional, and someday I am going to look back at this post and laugh. It's just a really good reminder of how fast the time goes with the kids, and I need to slow down and relish every morsel of goodness.

And then there is my dear, sweet Abigail. This girl loves a party more than anyone else I know. She is more excited about the birthday party we are throwing for Jackson than anyone. She keeps saying, "I can't wait for my friends to come over! I just miss my friends so much!"

I took on the difficult feat of taking her to Walmart with me today to pick out some birthday gifts for Jackson. I DREAD taking this girl in the toy aisles, but I didn't have much of a choice today. She actually did great until we got to those stupid, oh so strategic check out lanes. If I knew who to call to get someone to change the placement of the candy and toys in the check out aisles I would so do it. Anyway, she of course found this princess camera that she just LOVED. However, I explained to her that we were only shopping for Jackson today. We were shopping for his birthday. I told her if she wanted the camera for her birthday she could maybe get it then. So she is totally pumped for this princess camera that she thinks she is going to get (or still want) for her birthday (her birthday isn't for another 6 months). :)

Blueberry Muffins

We have so many awesome blueberries right now. So today during Jackson's morning nap, Abigail and I made blueberry muffins. She LOVES to help me in the kitchen, so when I am in a patient, laid-back mood, I take advantage and have her "help" me.

Baby Shower

This past Saturday Tanya Niewedde and I threw a baby shower for Heide. It was so much fun! Tanya eeks with creativity so all the great decorations and any creative, awesome idea that was executed was totally all her - seriously! But I had a great time throwing it. We had a fun game, great food (a big thanks to Mom for her awesome caramel rolls!), and a great devotion (thanks to Sue Whipple).

Tanya's mom was in town visiting, so she came and helped us, which was awesome!
